I find inspiration in South Carolina’s vibrant Indian community—in Columbia and Fort Mill/Charlotte. I host workshops and events to connect with the Indian community, where we share, celebrate, and pass on our traditions. Beyond the Indian community, I am cultural ambassador, building bridges between Indian and non-Indian communities through my art. I introduce Rangoli and Mithila painting to the broader public through events like the Diwali celebration I founded at the Columbia Museum of Art and festivals like the Columbia International Festival. Folk art plays a vital role in shaping our cultural identity, building communal cohesion and preserving traditions.
